They are best grown on in a frost free greenhouse or indoors on a windowsill and planted out into the garden once fully established. These fully hardy Phormium plants prefer full sun to partial shade, but will tolerate most conditions. These Phormium are slower growing than the more common varieties, they have broad deep copper red arching leaves. These architectural plants make a very attractive, exotic addition to the garden or can be planted large pot displays. Although this variety is difficult to obtain they are quite easy to grow in the garden and soon produce a magnificent large plant. When first planted into the garden this Phormium will take a while to establish.
